Central Eexcise collection touches Rs 7000 crore mark in Bengaluru zone

BENGALURU: Central Excise Bangalore Zone which has more than 1.61 lakh Central Excise and Service Tax assesses alone contributed Rs 7,034 Crore for the financial year 2013-14, said Surjit Bhujbal, Central Excise Commissioner here on Tuesday.
Addressing Central Excise Day-2015 he said the total revenue collection from ‘Central Excise’ for the entire country was about Rs 1,79,537 crore.Revenue collection from “Service Tax' for the entire country was about Rs 1,64,927 crore in Service Tax of which Bangalore Service Tax Zone contributed Rs 10,005 crore for year 2013-14. Besides, the LTU, Bangalore has contributed revenue of Rs 5,383 crore in Central Excise and Service Tax.
During the current financial year up to December 2014, Bangalore Zone has collected Rs 3,848 crore in Central Excise and Rs 7,785 crore in Service Tax. LTU, Bangalore has collected a revenue of Rs 1,192 crore in Central Excise and Service Tax, he added.
